Reception – World Trade Club, Lower Level of SunTrust Bank Corporate Headquarters

James Wells, President & Chief Operating Officer, SunTrust, Inc.

Mr. Wells welcomed us and spoke about SunTrust’s philosophy on diversity and the recognition the company has received for its efforts with a place on the DiversityInc Top 50 for Diversity. Mr. Wells also spoke of the groundbreaking efforts SunTrust is undertaking in the area of disability and demonstrating their understanding of true diversity that includes disability. SunTrust also views diversity and disability as avenues to reach new customers and to recruit new employees. Through products that are targeted to various groups, the bank has seen a greater public awareness of its sensitivity and inclusiveness. Mr. Wells specifically spoke of Disability Mentoring Day as one of its many outreach initiatives.

The rest of the evening was a networking opportunity for all in attendance at this extraordinary event. SunTrust truly was a gracious host and made this kickoff reception a great introduction to the Conference.
