WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE FULL ACCESS STUDENT SUMMIT
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN / GAIN?
* become more comfortable interacting with college students with a variety of disabilities and therefore more willing to recruit them;
* gain insight into what it is like to be a college student with a disability, and to understand their concerns and formulate a more successful recruitment strategy;
* develop a clear understanding of the talent and qualifications available in this specific population;
* about resources that will assist me in recruiting these students including COSD and COSD Career GatewayTM
* potentially find quality candidates for my company to strengthen and diversify our workforce;
WHAT STUDENTS CAN YOU EXPECT TO SEE?
You will meet a diverse group of college students and recent graduates with disabilities. The areas of diversity go well beyond the disability itself; ages, level of experience, majors, and ethnicity just to name a few.
WHAT IS THE ATTIRE FOR THE SUMMIT?
Business casual attire is encouraged for the daytime activities both days of the summit. Business professional attire is expected for the dinner Friday night. We have given the students the following guidance as to how we define each category:
Business Casual (Summit Days) – This attire falls somewhere between the more formal business professional suits and the casual look of jeans and a t-shirt. Business casual attire can consists of:
• Collared/knit shirts;
• Slacks, khakis or a skirt;
• Dress
Business Professional (Summit Dinner) – This attire is more professional than business casual or casual. It would be appropriate to wear to a job interview. Business professional attire can consists of:
• Suit jacket/blazer;
• Collared shirt, neatly pressed;
• Slacks or a skirt;
• Two-piece dress
Casual (After-dinner Fun Activities) – This attire is the least formal of the three. Casual attire can be defined as anything less than business casual. But because this is a career event, you will want to exercise good judgment. This could include:
• Jeans/khakis;
• T-Shirts/Sweatshirts;
• Knit shirts
