The Keynote Speaker was Claiborne Haughton, Jr., Retired Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Equal Opportunity. He spoke to our group, energizing us with a very inspirational message covering three basic themes that interlocked extremely well with the philosophy of COSD. Mr. Haughton's three primary points of his presentation were as follows:

• Work to ensure the full implementation of the ADA.
• Untangle accountability - taking responsibility and those who have the responsibility need to act on it. Each American should take some responsibility.
• Educate America to not "read a book by its cover."
